natural predator

Sometimes it's difficult to believe that the cute buddy you
live with, like my dog, Carlos the Shar-Pei, is considered to be a "predator." But, then again, as a human, so are we! There's an obvious difference between predator and prey.

Look where Carlos' eyes are and also
little Charlotte's eyes below. Both
sets of eyes are on the side of their noses.

Whereas prey, like a chicken, a bird, a horse or rabbit - their eyes are further apart so they can watch peripheral for
a predator.

The question is: Why are we feeding our dogs, who
are predators, like chickens, who are prey?
